Keara is a high school English teacher committed to social justice and giving back to her community. She is from South Central Los Angeles where she currently resides and teaches. She believes in teaching a curriculum that centers students of color experiences and values students’ assets. She believes in seeing and teaching the whole child- a belief that allows teachers to see a student beyond academics. Keara received her BA in American Literature with a minor in Education Studies and her M.Ed. from UCLA. She was recently accepted into UCLA’s Urban Schooling PhD program where she will research educational policies that impact Black students’ outcomes. She is excited to be a Brand Ambassador for Diaspora Travels because she is passionate about traveling and connecting with locals to get an authentic traveling experience. She wants to help curate an authentic and positive traveling experience to the Continent for others!
