Brand Ambassador

Branden Lee is a Compliance Consultant for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana. As a Compliance Consultant, he provides organizational support to employees on risk management and data integrity. Branden was all too gracious to accept an opportunity to work with Diaspora Travels.

Branden began his academic career at Southern University and A&M College. In December 2008, he obtained his baccalaureate degree in Political Science. And in May 2012, also from Southern University, he received his Master’s degree in Public Administration. Branden has devoted his career to learning HIPAA laws and regulations and knowledge of Public Health and Health Disparities in Black, African American, and LGBTQ+ Communities.

Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. Branden is deeply invested in the correlation between Africa and New Orleans. Being a New Orleanian and having friends in Africa, Branden has studied mainstream media’s misconception of The Continent and feels empowered to elevate voices from The Continent beyond the biased views of mainstream media.

Working with Diaspora Travels allows him to learn about the deprivation of the African history not taught in America. Our way of thinking to our way of living is the opposite of our African Ancestors. To address the disparities in Public Health, it starts with education. If we learn of our past, we can better charter our future. Branden believes Diaspora Travels provide that opportunity to reconnect Black or African Americans with an understanding of their ancestry. To be a beacon to the African Continent and allow other Black or African Americans to learn their true history is the first step.
